I have a Galaxy S9+ and it is protected by a very thick, well made, very protective Unicorn Beetle phone case. The 2 or 3 older wireless chargers I have will not charge my phone through this case. These Anker chargers connect as soon as I set my phone on them and I have never had a problem with the charging signal disconnecting.You have to supply your own adapter and if it’s not a quick charge 2.0 or 3.0 adapter, it’s not going to work right. I bet 90% of the returns on this product are user error due to the customer using an adapter from the dollar store. Anker should have bundled them together. I have a thicker case on my phone, and this charger works just fine with it.(I previously tried a magsafe phone stand charger, but the magnets don’t work as well through a thicker case. Most magsafe phone stands don’t have a shelf to hold up the phone, they depend on the magnets to carry the weight.)If I have any complaints at all, and this is pretty small, the microUSB cable that comes with it is very, very stiff; the charger is light, so it can be tricky getting the charger to say put where I want it, the stiff cable keeps wanting to tip it over unless I pre-bend the cable to fit where I want it. No big deal, since it’s a standard microUSB cable, I just swapped it around with the cable to my Anker Powercore speaker, since the speaker is heaver and doesn’t get pushed around as easy.If you’re traveling, you probably want something smaller than this to pack in your luggage, since it doesn’t fold up like my Nulaxy phone stand, which I prefer with a USB-C lightning cable on trips. One works well with my daily desk setup, and the second fits in nicely on my nightstand. The charging power is going to be a bit slower compared to using a cord, but the ease makes up for it since I have it positioned on the desk so it becomes an instinct to naturally put my phone on it when it is not in use but within reach.An added advantage is the angle makes it great for hands-free video calls, although I would suggest bluetooth audio/mic as the microphone may be muffled with the phone resting on it. Bluetooth fixes this issue and makes it a great second use for these wireless chargers.For Apple users, my Airpods Pro case can be charged on these as well! It just has to be propped up on its side for the coil to recognize it. Overall, these are a great purchase I will I had gotten earlier.

Stupid MagSafe charger lying flat on the desk – I can’t even see your screen. Every time I pick up my iphone you are stuck to it forcing me to use two hands. If you’ve experienced the same annoyance with the Apple MagSafe charger, replace it with this. It’s not as fast but if your needs are not for “hyper-charging”, the convenience of this is way worth it.I timed it with my iPhone 12 Pro – when plugged into the wall using a 5W apple iPhone charger (all I had on hand) it takes 3 minutes for each 1% charge (so 2.5hrs for 50%). More wattage would speed this up as this model has a 7.5W capacity. Plugged into the iMac it’s like charging your phone on the airplane using USB – enough to keep you going but takes a long time to gain charge.I also replaced my clear MagSafe bumper with one that does not have the magnet so I can’t comment on whether it would impede charging (the listing says no magnets so I would assume so). I do not miss the gaudy look of that stupid white ring on the back.There IS a blue circular light on the bottom center of the cradle to let you know it’s charging. If you plan to put this on a nightstand next to your bed you may want to put a small square of black electrical tape over the light as it does light up the room a bit when dark (see picture).

I listen to a lot of streaming audio so these are convenient because I leave my phone on the charger while I’m streaming and I don’t have to worry about the battery dying. You can charge your phone in the vertical or the horizontal position which is really nice.When I charge my iPhone 11 with the Apple charger it has a mode where it charges my phone slowly over a period of time which I guess makes the battery last longer. I noticed this feature is not available when using this charger but that is no big deal.
