Like many others, I’ve had issues with other cheaper cords that either kinda-sorta-work sometimes with Android Auto… or just don’t work at all… I bought this cord expressly to have a short cord for the car to plug my Samsung S9 Galaxy into my car (A 2018 Hyundai Tucson) and have it work reliably with Android Auto every time. This cord does that…. YES… IT WORKS WITH ANDROID AUTO.I got tired of iffy cheap cords… this one is expensive for a 1ft cord, but it’s high quality and it just works every time… which makes me happy… no more wondering if my phone will connect to Android Auto anymore.

The heavy duty Amazon basic brand cables are the absolute best regardless of which attachment you’re looking for. USB-C, HDMI, or lightning they are all the best available anywhere. And one of the best things about them is you can get the length you want dumb or getting stuck with a tiny 3 foot long cable. I have a preference for the 10 foot cables they allow me to use my device while it at night and I have used all the varieties of cables mentioned here. One of the little things about them is when they are offered in different colors it allows you to look at the cable and see which one you’re getting without having to pick it up and look at the end and just still be able to tell by color what cable is plugged into which device when you’re charging more than one at a time and I find that really nice. I really do recommend these cables to all my friends that I encounter in person. And my baggie full of cables I carry with me do occasionally get some attention when I want to charge while I’m out and other people see them and see how thick they are and sometimes questions come up. With the 10ft cables out at the hospital they get the most attention. I carry a tap that will accommodate 2 cords with me one for my phone and one for a tablet.

My primary reason for this purchase was to maximize data transfer speeds to my Galaxy s9 Phone with a SanDisk SD Card. I already have a ton of cables of varying quality levels, but have been spending a ton of time transferring music to my phone, and wanted to make sure to be as efficient as possible. I don’t have actual specs, but the difference is significant. Moving gigs of music I went from hours to minutes compared to an unrated cheap cable in a USB 3 port. I actually haven’t really tested charging speed, but I typically only use higher quality cables anyway, so I can charge my Galaxy s9 phone quite fast in general.I provided a picture next to another popular brand. The beige cable is this item. Let me preface by saying I am extremely pleased with the quality and general performance of the other (red) cable as well, it just doesn’t have the same data transfer rating. I provided the picture just for scale so you could see the thickness, the red cable is no slouch especially compared to non-braided cables. The cable itself is thicker than any cable I’ve ever purchased before. Not that the outside thickness is really an indication of the copper thickness inside, the cable is too stiff to be wrapped around for example your finger without major effort like you might with some earbuds or something. I don’t think I would wrap it in a loop any smaller than 5 inches or so without putting what I feel like strain on it.The plugs fit snugly in the phone and my usb ports, and the sleeves at the base of the plugs are very durable plastic with basically no flex, protecting what is one of the major points of failure in a cable like this. I used to buy cheap cables in bulk and would find myself throwing them away on a regular basis. I expect with proper care this cable will last a very long time, so I can easily rationalize a premium price.Unlike other cables that I think nothing about wrapping, tying, throwing, and cramming into small places for travel, I would not recommend this cable as your travel cable. It isn’t too flexible, I don’t think it would be great as your regular car charger cable either. This will stay by my PC or go in my laptop bag. It has a convenient velcro loop on the cable so you can wrap it up for storage. As a side note, I don’t really know how pinouts on these things work, but I had a USB-C to USB-C cable for a disk drive adapter that didn’t fit quite well in my PC. I switched to this cable and used a USB port instead, and my adapter functioned perfectly with no noticeable time increase for formatting drives. In conclusion, this isn’t your regular disposable charging cable. If you are looking to maximize data transfer speeds, I highly recommend this one. At the time of my purchase, it was one of the better values for its particular rating.

This is an excellent USB Type-C to Type-A cable, I specifically purchased this cable to replace my older aging USB Type-A cables that I was using in conjunction with a USB-A to C adapter head. This is by far one of the best charging cable that I’ve purchased and is a great alternative to Anker (basically the only other brand that I’ve trust to purchase when it comes to charging cables). As advertised, cable is very flexible and comes with Double Braided Nylon which makes this cable super durable (you can tell right out of the box, the cable has a nice thickness to it). I don’t have to worry about kinking or damaging the cable from bends, twists, or coiling. It’s also a bonus that it comes with Velcro wrap to assist with cable management. The sleeves that cover the contact points between the cable and the USB heads are well protected with an extended (not sure if it’s plastic or rubber) neck which is nice, that should ensure the longevity of the cable and it’s also quite rigid so there is ample of support on the connection points.I did not run any scientific testing for transfer speeds as I do not have any devices that read/write anywhere near 5gb/s, however I did test transferring 5gb of data from my PC to SG8+ which took about 3 minutes (smaller batch files transfers where anywhere from 180-250 mb/s) to me this is more than satisfactory as this is better than my older cables. My primary use of this cable is for charging my SG8 + which it does a superb job of; charging times matches expectation as it’s on par with fast charging out of the box from the manufacture, without a fast charging brick, it runs standard 2.1 amp which is exactly what I would expect with my SG8+.Overall, an excellent USB Type-C to Type-A 3.1 cable by AmazonBasic, I would totally recommend picking up a few of these if you need more charging cables and/or want to replace cables you currently have as these are far more durable then what most manufactures provide. Also, these cables look great, I really like that AmazonBasic offers a few different color options! Awesome job by Amazon/AmazonBasic!

Cable is indeed a 3.1, type C to type A, and overall good value for the money. The braided nylon design helps stiffen the cord to remind you not to bend it too badly or you might damage the cord, however damage to the cord is probably inevitable so they get 4 stars for that. Also with how stiff the cable is it makes it kind of hard to wrap up and store, the hook and loop cable tie is very nice so they get 4 stars for traveling.I saw many reviews stating the cable didn’t work with the Oculus Quest Link, however in reality it’s probably more true that their computer didn’t work with the Oculus Quest Link. Oculus is only allowing their software to work with a limited number of graphics cards, check that out before buying this cord if your goal is to connect your Quest via Oculus Link. My laptop is not one that is supported, my work computer is supported. This cable worked perfectly with using the Oculus Quest Link on my work computer but failed to work with my unsupported laptop, which I expected as much. However I bought this not as an Oculus Quest Link but to use with Riftcat, which it works great with. Now I can at least play Skyrim VR in Potato+ Quality with my under powered GTX 1050 ti laptop.

We have been buying the standard 10ft charging cable from Amazon basics for a while now. They held up pretty well, but once our kids started getting devices that needed to be charged, it became clear that we needed something a little stronger. This fits the bill, the price is good, and it comes with a little velcro strap to hold it nice and neat when you wrap it up for travel.

The braided cord is great. Keeps the bending and kinking away. They built these cords to last forever. I bought a bunch of these to have everywhere I could possible use one and 2 extra for my backpack. Kind of expensive but worth every penny. These cords are sturdy and coil perfectly when your done with them. The colors are a nice touch since I still have an IPhone 6 using lightning cords so I can color code my cords. AmazonBasics is approved by Apple so if you find a better deal for a cheap charging cord, ask yourself, is it worth it? Should I spend a little more to change the device that I carry with me and depend on daily. Or should I buy the cheap $3.00 cord that come in a 24 pack and include a free mouse pad? You came to the right place if your reading this review. Buy this cord!

I bought this cable as an increasing number of my devices are using USB type C connectors. This does not mean they support 3.1, 3.1 Gen2, etc but rather that manufacturers are standardizing on a new connector to replace the microUSB connector. The issue is that the included cables have a range of capabilities. For example, a pair of headphones of mine has a USB type C connector for a USB 2.0 connection. The bundled cable is a USB 2.0 A-C cable. This started to get out of hand and rather than labeling each cable with the capabilities, or lack their of… I decided to just replace all my cables with USB type C connectors with the latest 3.1 Gen2 cables. As the USB spec is generally backwards-compatible, this both future-proofs and simplifies.I’ve tried Amazon Basics cables in the past, with generally positive results and the price was significantly better than competitor 3.1 Gen2 cables… so I bought one to test. This cable is exactly as it claims… a USB 3.1 Gen2 A to C cable. As 3.1 Gen2 is relatively new, I can’t fully test it… but every test I’ve been able to administer, the cable has performed as expected. The one thing I was not expecting was how thick/stiff the cable is. I’m sure this is just a early adopter problem and later cables will be more flexible, but for now… the cable is stiff enough that it is difficult to coil/travel with. Be aware if you are looking to store it in a small space.Over all, I’m satisfied as the stiffness was not an issue for me.Update (10 APR 20220: I’ve checked a few other brands of 3.1 Gen2 A to C cables and they are all pretty inflexible. This is likely due to thicker shielding needed to support a full 10Gbps. Since this seems to be common among all 3.1 Gen2 cables, I’m bumping this from 4 to 5 stars. ALSO, I have now had a chance to test this on a setup where both devices supported Gen2. I’m pleased to verify connectivity of nearly 10Gpbs and have since bought a few more of these.

This is my story….I am a big fan of Nintendo. I have and still own every system NES console systems made since the 80’s. Although I can hook these system to my television, I found I spend most of my time in front of my imac. In an effort to meld my guilty pleasure with my work station, I researched into how to connect the NES to my computer.I discovered that the elgato hd60s external video capture works well for this task. So the NES runs through a HDMI auto switcher to the Elgato and finally to my USB 3.0 port on my computer.I discovered with so many connections, the quality of usb cable plays an important role. I use high bandwidth hdmi cables to run from the NES to the switcher and to the Elgato. To handle large amount of video data, the Elgato utilizes USB-C connection. I tried various inexpensive manufacturers only to suffer from lags and pixelations.Having used Amazon Basic products in the past, I chose to order a 1 foot cable. To my dismay, amazon basic 1 foot cable includes the usb ends in their length determination. The cable was just several inches short of my minimalist setup. I proceeded to do a return and reorder a lengthier 3 feet version of this cable.Amazon did me right, they refunded me the purchase price of the 1 foot cable within hours. I also received an email stating there was no need to return the one foot cable, it was mine to keep. They then sent prime shipping the 3 feet cable which I received in 2 business days.My setup with this new cable has been phenomenal. With different usb-c cables, the Elgato sometime did not recognize the NES systems video signals, when I switch from one console to the next. With this cable, I have seamlessly transitions between them.I generally use double braided nylon cables, i find them more durable than traditional, and since I am pretty rough my my wires, this is a must plus. For the value, in essence I got this for free, but to be fair it is still the best competitive price on the market.Big Fan and I highly recommend.Good Luck.
