    I bought a solo cam E40 a few months back and was happy with it except for the battery, which was only going to last about 2 weeks in a low traffic area. Rather than adding on a solar panel, I opted to wait for the S40 to come out.I’ve only had the S40 for a few days, but the solar panel is keeping the battery at a constant level despite sub-optimal camera placement (only receives direct sunlight in the morning).The camera has been responsive in detecting motion during both the day and night (people, dogs, cars, deer). The alerts arrive within a few seconds of motion and the app is responsive overall.The integrated solar panel is good for aesthetics and makes it much less obtrusive. Recommended so far!Edit: FWIW I use Unifi access points and haven’t experienced any of the drop out problems that other users are reporting, but buyer beware.

    I’ve been waiting for Eufy to come out with this camera. It checks all the boxes. No need for a base station, massive battery, no need to ever change if you mount it in an area that receives sunlight, 2k resolution, and spotlight with color night vision capabilities. I bought 5 and I love them, however, one it having difficulty with picking up motion but Amazons amazing customer service fixed the issue quickly. They charge pretty fast in the sunlight. I’ve had a camera go from 94% battery to 100% in a day, just make sure you change fully before install. The mount that it comes with is fairly basic and should be better for the price of the camera but all in all very satisfied and impressed. Lastly I wish there was the ability in the security app to pause all camera notifications with one button for when I’m working around the outside of my house instead of pausing each individual camera.

    This security camera has been up and running since December 1 and other than the install on the garage eave by an old man on a ladder, there are no issues with its operation. I did survive the ladder install and the camera is securely in place. The solar panel works great and I have a good field of view picture down the driveway and surrounding area. Motion detection and picture quality is good both day and night. I have had no connectivity issues and I am certain my wifi extender plays an important roll in strong wifi connection.Loom wifi extender: I purchased a Loom extender from Amazon and its helps bring a very strong signal with no drop off of signal. Shortly after receipt of the Loom extender I could no longer find the product on Amazon. I am not sure why it is no longer offered but I am certain it plays a major role in the great and stable signal and picture I am able to get on this camera. It is still available from Loom online but the extender has mysteriously disappeared from Amazon web site. Just curious….Why was this product dropped??? I highly recommend it also.Anyway, I am very happy with this camera and extender and I highly recommend both products if your in the market. I previously bought an Arlo and I never could get a good stable picture so I returned and bought the Eufy. I am very satisfied.

Solar panel + sport light + free local storage all in one package!Now with the Integrated solar panel I don’t even have to take the camera down and recharge like the old one I had.The spotlight was super bright . It automatically turn on when motion was detected. It’s super bright.2K resolution is clear and perfectly work with google voice assistance. However, there was a WI-FI connection issues when I first set up the camera, thanks to Eufy customer services helped me walk thur steps and solved the problem. The camera connection is much more stable after the firmware update.Overall I give it a five stars with all the features it has

    I must apologize for my negative review on this security camera. When I ordered this the FIRST time and tried to connect to my wi-fi, it would not connect. I called Eufy customer support and we tried everything, and I mean everything to make it work. Customer support told me it is defective and to return it. I bought one at BestBuy and guess what, didn’t work. I tried a third one and didn’t work. I then took this to a friend’s house to give it to him to see if it would connect and guess what. It worked!!! I called customer support again (spoke to a very helpful person) and she checked with an Eufy engineer about the problem. We found out that if a wi-fi password has ANY SPACES (even if they are intentionally there) it will not connect. I changed my wi-fi password and it almost immediately connected! I feel awful about the negative review I left. I erased it and I have to say this is one awesome camera!! I highly recommend!!!I’m sorry Eufy!!!?

By changing to motion detection, it can detect my cats as well. Monitoring the cats eating, drinking, and playing is made easy.The night vision is also great. Network connectivity to this camera works fine and is connected to a mesh WiFi network. I have not had any issues with it disconnecting.Pros:Motion detection consistencyVideo qualityBattery life (documentation says it has a 4 month charge)Built in batteryEasy of installationCons:My house does not get enough sunlight to sufficiently charge it. Luckily it only drains about 1% a day. (Not camera’s fault)Does not have the ability to insert a SIM card or cloud storage for 24/7 recording.Overall: There is some room for improvement but overall, I am extremely pleased with this purchase. Make sure you get a good bit of sun in your area.

    One really nice security camera the way it works with all it’s features. I live in Northern Minnesota and the sun is a rarity, cold weather, snow etc.. Now in November with temps in the teens, 20’s and hardly any sun, the battery keeps fully charge. There are a lot of good features with this camera and using the app is very nice once you learn it. Tech support by phone is FANTASTIC..!! The best support/help I have ever encountered with a purchase. Thanks to them.

Most amazing thing is u don’t have to charge it since it has the solar panel. Most of the times, it works pretty well detecting human, even though sometimes it would mistake cars for human, but the overall accuracy is pretty good.
