So I bought this thing almost two years ago now, and I’ve been meaning to write this review for almost as long. This is, without exaggeration, the best thing I’ve ever bought off Amazon. After all this time, the sound quality is still on point. The batter life is stupid-good. I have literally left this thing on for days – DAYS – and it still had juice. One such story – after using it at admittedly lower volume for about 4 hours, I left it in my backpack and forgot about it all weekend. As I never disconnected it from my device, and t never got far enough away to autodisconnect (which it’ll do if it isn’t connected to anything for about 10 minutes), it stayed on for over 48 hours after having been actively used for an evening. The kicker? I didn’t realize I’d left it on until I went to use it again. Which I did. For another four hours. That’s 8 hours of actual use plus the 48 hours of just being on. My phone barely lasts all day on airplane mode.As for the sound quality – I’ve never had any issue. I play a wide range of music genres and styles: from country to metal, hip hop to classical. In fact, I regularly connect my laptop through this player instead of through the internal speakers because the sound is so much richer. Also, this thing is built like a tank. I’ve dropped this thing onto the street from a speeding motorcycle – the speaker didn’t even stop playing.I love this little black box. I’ve convinced anyone I know who’s been interested in a bluetooth speaker to buy one, and none of them have looked back either. If you’re trying to decide what you want – and aren’t exclusively planning on taking it scuba diving with you or whatever, this is your best choice.

Great little speaker—especially for the price. Sound is crisp and full, it looks great, and has a nice, solid heft to it. It’s also extremely easy to pair to an iPhone. Once paired, it quickly and reliably connects to my phone when turned on.I get that Anker wants people to see their brand name and the white paint they used isn’t so bright that the logo is obnoxious, but I still didn’t want to look at it. So, using a metal pick in holes around the perimeter, I slowly and carefully pried off the grill. It’s held in by tension and a very thin strip of black adhesive tape. Once the grill was off, I wrapped masking tape around the small ledge all the way around the grill. This was to keep from painting and ruining the black adhesive so I could reattach it later. If you use the slick, non-sticker paper from a sticker sheet you might get better results than I did. The masking tape took off a small amount of the adhesive, but it still worked. Then, with a $4 can of generic-brand metallic copper spray paint from the hardware store, I gave it a couple coats from all directions. Don’t spray too heavily or you’ll clog some of the small holes in the grill. IMO, it turned out perfect. Really classes up the little speaker.

Anker Soundcore ReviewI bought this device 4 weeks back and have been using it and testing it on a consistent basis. Here’s my review of the Anker Soundcore. I base my review on the following criteria.1. Sound clarity2. Volume3. Durability4. Connectivity5. Battery Life6. LooksPros – Amazing sound clarity, Very good mids and highs, Superb Battery Life, Very LoudCons – Bass can be so-so (but for $25 it can’t get better)1. Sound clarity.I will give you a very realistic assessment of the sound quality of the speakers.Bass – Most speakers in this price range have little to no bass at all. The bass on the Anker Soundcore can surely be a little underwhelming (ignoring the price point for now) but saying it has little to no bass would surely be an understatement. When these speakers are placed near a wall and you are listening to them from upto 2-3 feet, you can hear some bass. This bass is slightly on the higher end of the bass spectrum, so there is not much oomph to it, but it does sound clear. Now taking the price point into consideration, I think Anker has really done an amazing job with the bass. It really doesn’t get better than this at an $25. Sure it doesn’t sound like the $150 JBL Charge 4, but so what? I believe it is not possible to provide amazing bass at this price point, and the Anker Soundcore gets out the best it can for 25 bucks.Mids and Treble – Oh my my! This is where I fell in love with the speakers. The mids sound really good and the treble might give other twice or triply priced speakers a run for its money. I actually bought these speakers to listen to videos and audiobooks (and some occasional music), and its just so damn perfect for this. I absolutely love listening to the mid-range voices coming from the speaker. Additionally, the hihats and other high sounds very crisp. If you have a small budget and are looking to get Bluetooth speakers, please stop reading all reviews, do yourself a favor, and just get one of these, you surely won’t regret.2. VolumeSound clarity doesn’t mean anything if the speakers can’t get loud enough and/or can’t maintain clarity at loud volumes. These speakers surely tick (infact, maybe even double tick) these boxes. I stay in a 1000 sq ft house with two bedrooms. When I play this in the living room (~500 sq ft) at full volume, this fills the entire room and a good amount of the remaining house. It is loud and if you were to not look at this and just listen to it, you would surely feel as if the sound was coming from speakers that are much larger. The small package pushes out a really good volume of sound. The sound maintains clarity at the highest of volumes. So, Loud Volume – Check, Clarity at loud volume – Check.3. DurabilityThe package seems very sturdy and seems like it’s built to last. Haven’t tried to drop it active or put it into water, but the Anker Sound core seems like it could take a lot of abuse if needed. One of the reviewers here was mentioning that they dropped the speaker from a height of 8 feet onto a tile floor but it still worked fine. Please don’t do it, but I think it might last if you were to.4. ConnectivityI have no issues with connectivity in the house. Even when I place the speakers in the corner of the room and take my phone to the other end (with multiple walls in between), I have faced no connectivity issues. For other ranges, I haven’t been able to test it actively. I did some research on amazon and other places online and found out the actual range varies between 40 and 70 feet, with a clear line of sight. This should also be fine enough for this range.5. Battery lifeThis claims to have a battery life of 24 hours. I am not mad enough to test it in reality, but in my experience, I have had to charge it only once in the past four weeks. I listen to it for an hour or two a day. When I used the speakers out of the box, it had a battery about 20%. That battery lasted a week and could have lasted more, if I didn’t choose to charge it because of the annoying low battery sound below 10%. I think this has a really fantastic battery life. No complaints at all.6. LooksI got the blue color and I got my girlfriend the black color. The unit looks sexy AF and I have no complaints in this department at all. Just one little thing, the speakers are slightly prone to finger prints.Final Verdict – Budget below $30? Please stop reading and buy it.P.S. This is an honest review of these. I have not been sponsored by anyone. If you found this review helpful, please select “Yes” below. It would be great if others could access this in-depth review. I fear this review will be lost in the sea of reviews. Anyways, thanks if you read this through

Alright, 50(ish)% charge out of the box for me, connected in 5 seconds, supports Dolby Atmos via capable device if you have it – as you can hear it. Very good for a car or a tent, clear and theater-like. Size is also worth the buy along with the price tag(if you don’t mind micro USB charging cable). No Auxiliary (aux) wire, although it does allow you to connect with one, has a microphone hole on the side(didn’t test how well it plays talking with someone, I’m sure it would be nearly the same as with most speakers{sub par to average, but don’t take my word for it}). Base is nearly absent but it’s a very crisp sound for this price, I think it does more than what you can ask other brands to accomplish. I don’t think micro USB is that much of a let down to be honest, I DO like having different wires for all my devices.Should you choose this one over something else?I would debate – yes. Also if you need something small and not something overly imposing.

My T12 speaker refused to properly pair with my new Kindle. I suppose I could have tried to figure out what was wrong, but I’ve had the T12 for a few years and it doesn’t owe me anything. I’d have bought another one — it had really excellent sound with quite good bass, but they aren’t making that version anymore and I didn’t like the others.I have other Anker product and ALL of them work well, from the smallest inexpensive SD reader to some fairly complicated interface devices. When I saw this at a very reasonable price, I bought it.It paired with the Kindle instantly and it sound very good. Less bassy than the T12, but it was also less expensive and this one has the advantage of being rather louder than the T12. Since I use it for audiobooks and not music, I’m not all that concerned with bass. This is a good, loud speaker. It charges quickly, pairs easily, adjusts without complaint. I’m very pleased with it and the price is more than reasonable.

I can’t sing the praises of Anker and their products enough. I own several other products of theirs (it all starting with their PowerCore Chargers) and they’ve hit it out of the park on another one. Solid, quality products that are highly functional, versatile and affordable. Live in SoCal and got this for beach / backyard patio / general Bluetooth speaker. Researched a few others including Bose SoundLink / Beats and I found the reviews (and notably the price) to guide me toward buying. I’m SO glad I did. Truly y’all (from the south so no apologies) buy this. Stop your endless pursuit I hear some of you here “but that bass though” “the distance for connectivity.” Please. If the bass isn’t enough for you, you’re A) Out of your mind and setting unrealistic expectations and B) Probably should be looking at more expensive products and not wining about this one. This is solid no matter how you compare it to the competition. Pairing is super simple. Have a 2100 sq ft home and in an upstairs bedroom I can still hear it and it fills a room completely (when placed at top volume limit). Materials are quality and I even got the case ($14.99 or what have you) that they make to go with. Don’t waste time or money looking, this is your guy/gal. Trust.

Wow!I purchased this speaker because my tv is 12 feet across the room and I am a senior with hearing loss.My tv is louder than normal and always told by family it’s too loud.I decided to try this item out since so many great reviews.Took 2 or 3 times to Bluetooth to my tv but that’s because I didn’t set it right. Now, I put the speaker on and I was disappointed the speaker wasn’t that loud.I was ready to send it back. Then something told me to check the audio on tv. I thought I had the type of audio wrong checked which may have lowered the volume due to the type of audio. But, before I could do that, I noticed that the volume on the tv was low. Naaah, that couldn’t be the problem could it? Well, I raised the volume on the tv ( the tv doesn’t get louder) and guess what!THE VOLUME ON THIS SPEAKER WAS BLASTING!!!!I then had to lower this speaker because it was too loud! This speaker is great, great and GREAT!!!Great sound! U will not be disappointed!!!!Take it from a half deaf senior!!!

Why did I wait, this thing rocks! Have only had it for a week, but took it with me on a trip and was fun to have something better than a phone to play tunes while getting ready in the morning. It was small and fairly light so tucked right in my carryon. I sing in a blues band and picky about sound so did a good bit of research prior. Great for a home office as well and much better than laptop speakers. This has great sound, you can probably turn it up to about 60% before any distortion begins, so will fill a medium sized room with great sound, but not a ballroom. It does have an aux input. I have not tried it outdoors yet. I do suggest you buy the protective case by Dsall. and my only suggestion to the manufacturer for the next version, the controls are molded into the rubbery top of the unit and are very hard to see in a dark hotel room! One thing I did not notice in other reviews, (might have missed it) if configured in your settings, when connected to your device (iPhone 6 for me) your lock screen will give you a notice of the battery life of the Anker as well as your iPhone, so no guessing about how much battery life is left. I have only charged it once and have likely played it for a total of 4 hours over the last week (Bluetooth) and the battery still says 100%.

UPDATE: I’ve had this speaker for about 3 years now, and I continue to be amazed. It sounds just as good as day one, despite getting a bit wet on more than one occasion (it isn’t certified waterproof like the SoundCore 2). And the battery STILL lasts about a week on a charge. I legitimately forget I have to charge it, after 3 YEARS! The value in this thing is insane, I can’t recommend it enough! I know some people think Anker has been slacking a bit as of late, but this speaker is still king in my book!I’m never let down by Anker products. I bought my first battery pack from them back in 2012, and I’ve been hooked ever since. This speaker is no exception. Let me just break it down into my personal pros and cons-Pros:-Crisp, clear sound. Highs are clean, mids are pronounced, and bass has a bit of oomph. Not room shaking, but more than enough for a speaker this portable. Easily the best sound I’ve heard from a $33 speaker.-Battery life. Oh my god, it lasts forever. I’ve charged it once since I got it (a week ago) and used it every day for at least a few hours. I’ve left it playing at low volume while I sleep twice (16 hours at least). Basically, you can count on charging this thing about once or twice a week. If you have an iphone on iOS 11 you can also see the battery percentage in increments of 10% on your widget screen. Pretty nifty!-Build Quality. This thing feels so premium. The texture, the weight, the attention to detail. I have the blue one, and it really stands out.-Port placement. I’ve had many speakers, and the ports are usually on the back. Not here. Anker put them on the side, so you can listen to music with the speaker facing toward you, or facing upward to give a more room-filling sound. All while being charged or connected via aux input.-Little details. When I turn on my old speaker, it makes a loud BLOOP BLOOP noise, making everyone within 100 feet of me aware of its presence. This speaker, even when the volume is up, plays its “turning on bloops” much more quietly. Loud enough to hear, but not gonna wake up your sleeping spouse if you want to listen to some quiet tunes. Also, the blue light is behind the speaker grill, so it’s not obnoxiously bright when it’s on. Another detail that I really appreciate. You can tell Anker puts a lot of thought into their product designs.Cons:-It could stand to be a little louder. It gets plenty loud for a medium sized room, but my older soundbot speaker (which is much more cheaply made) got a bit louder than this one. Still, it sounds so clear and dynamic that I would always choose it over the soundbot.-Not waterproof. Can’t get too mad at this, though, since they remedied this with the SoundCore 2. So avoid the beach with this lil guy.So, I’m obviously in love with this speaker. You did it again, Anker! On top of how much I love the actual speaker, I also always appreciate the followup email from Anker, asking if everything is up to my expectations. Their extra effort in customer satisfaction is greatly appreciated in a time when many companies seem to be skimping. Thanks again for a knockout purchase, Anker!

So, this is my first experience with any Anker products. This thing got delivered yesterday and I’ve been furious ever since. I bought it for background music for my office, so I didn’t need anything great or loud, so I thought this $29 speaker would do the trick. The problem is that I spent about $250 on a Braven speaker last year for camping and such, and although I was more than pleased with the performance of that speaker, it is only marginally better sounding, and maybe just a little louder than this Anker speaker. It’s also about 3 times as big and has a 12 hour battery life, as opposed to the Anker’s 24.This is probably the best value I have even seen in a Bluetooth speaker. I just wish I would have found this before spending tons of money on others. I would gladly have paid more money for a speaker of this quality. Is it the utmost in premium quality sound? Of course not, don’t be an idiot, it’s a tiny speaker that costs under $30… but I think you would be hard pressed to find anything at this price point that comes anywhere even remotely close to the awesomeness you get with this speaker.I will be buying more anker stuff.
