I’m replacing an Arlo battery-operated camera system. The Arlo system has been good but the Eufycam E is better. Video quality is superior both in daytime and at night. Eufycam also has a wider viewing angle (140 degrees) which helps with setups. The Eufycam software also lets you create activity zones for each camera which can’t be done with Arlo unless the cameras are powered by wire. And a huge advantage to Eufycam is the reported 365 day battery life. I’m sure that recording activity and other settings will affect this but even if it’s half that long I’ll be amazed. As if the battery life and video quality weren’t enough, the Eufycam stores recordings on SD cards in the base unit. No more cloud subscriptions and better privacy in my opinion.Did I mention that the Eufycam is less expensive? This is a win-win-win for me.Setup was easy and I’m very pleased with my decision to change cameras.

We already had a home security system for exterior access protection and a video camera inside but have been thinking about additional exterior video monitoring for some time and recently made the decision after a nearby home invasion during daylight hours not too far from our home. Did some extensive research online and searched reviews but what I really liked about this system is that there is no need to pay for a monthly fee for monitoring. Setup was pretty easy but I had watched a Youtube prior to purchasing. I did have to call customer support because I was having some difficulty adding my husband so that we could both access the system. Critical suggestions-this system is only available in white and if you’re putting outside and trying to be discreet black would be better. The one on my front porch was no issue because my trim is white. I would also consider making and selling silicone skins. We mounted 2 of the cameras on trees. We purchased some camo for another brand of camera which were a little small but since we only needed 2 we took the third one in the package and cut off a piece to cover the white area. We will be painting the mounting bracket in the next few days to make it less noticeable. The quality of the picture is excellent and the video quality is very good. Comes with a quick start guide and unfortunately after contacting Eufy there is no owners manual to describe the many additional features. I found an excellent YouTube video which detailed unboxing, setup and use which was excellent. All in all we are very happy with this system and is quite easy to use once you figure it out on your own due to LACK OF MANUAL.

After researching many camera and security equipment options, Eufy had everything I was looking for. Wireless, Easy set up, long lasting batteries (365 days with one charge), Clear Video (720), and so far great customer service. I am still learning the system but so far I am completely satisfied. Couple caveats, this system isn’t a 24 hour video monitoring system, it is more like an outdoor sensor light that when it senses movement it turns on and starts recording for a bit then pushes you the notifications to look at the video clip and decide to start real-time monitoring. That’s how the wireless batteries last so long. Finally, what turned me off with the other systems was the required monthly fees after already own the system to store your video in the cloud. Eufy gives you that option but it also stores video locally on your homebase with an upgradeable mini SD card that I upgraded to 128 GB from the 16GB that comes with it. The whole system has everything you need right out of the box.

The media could not be loaded.

Full disclosure – I did have some issues post setup. My understanding of how the homebase communicated with the cameras was wrong. I worked with Eufy support quite a bit on this and other concerns I had and they answered all my questions.I have three cameras placed around the property. One monitors my driveway. I live in a rural area and it’s great to now be able to see who is coming or who has come up the drive. Today, it was my neighbors dog on patrol. The camera is 100 feet away from the homebase. I’ve included a video so you can see how well it does.

Easy installation. Easy to connect to wifi. Great picture resolution. Simple to use app. Batteries are not replaceable, which means when the camera no longer holds a charge, you have to replace it. BUT, that’s not necessarily a bad thing considering replacing an entire camera in this system isn’t much more money than having to buy a new battery in others. I’ve had the Arlo system, so I can compare the two and tell you this appears to be a better system for roughly half the cost. The batteries are rechargeable, and after three months of use and frequent motion triggers, only one of my three cameras has even lost one bar on the battery indicator. I highly recommend this security system. Very pleased and impressed!

Edited review:So I have been in contact with Eufy customer service since the homebase unit that came was not working. They gave me instructions to reboot the unit and after a few tries it still did not work. Eufy immediately offered to send me a replacement homebase unit at no charge. I received the replacement a few days later and was able to get it working right away! Kudos to Eufy for having such excellent customer service and prompt replies to my inquiries. I have been a loyal Anker customer and this is another reason why I will stick with Anker products forever! Thank you!!Out of the box the Homebase connected to the downloaded app without issues. Everything fell apart when the Homebase initiated an update to the firmware that could not be completed after 24 hours. Then it was multiple tries of unplugging, resetting, contacting Eufy customer service and still could not resolve the issue. I am now waiting for an “engineer” to contact me back. Hopefully, the issue can be resolved and I will update my review.

My roommates have moved out; I live as a student in an urban gentrifying city; and my community has also been attempting to crack down on small crimes such having packages stolen. I felt it was necessary to purchase a set of home security cameras to ensure my own and my community’s safety. I had been cross-shopping and researching home security cameras, namely between Eufy vs. Netgear Arlo. I ultimately chose Eufy’s camera system after watching and reading numerous reviews owing to its the long battery life, simplicity of design, and the lauded reputation of Anker/Eufy.The package arrived quickly in a well-organized box. Ease of setup was phenomenal:1. Eufy provides all the templates needed to correctly drill the magnetic attachment to the wall (I highly recommend using a power drill). The camera feels securely attached to the magnetic holder.2. Syncing to the base station was fast and had a constant, stable, reliable wireless connection.3. Installing the app, registering for an account, and pairing all the cameras took less than 30 minutes total.Use of the camera is awesome. The application interface to access the cameras is similar to Netgear Arlo. It is littered with options to customize how an operator would like to receive notifications, set alarms, schedule times, etc. I love using my security camera to spy on my cat. Battery life has been amazing; its been nearly 2 months since install and the battery remains over 80% even with constant use. We feel infinitely safer simply having the cameras around.Customer service has also been phenomenal. My front door camera had a defect where moisture collected in the lens causing the picture to become blurred. I contacted Eufy customer service through the app. I was quickly connected to my representative Kayla, who lead me through the process of sending me a brand-new replacement camera and coordinating the return of the defective one. Kayla continued to monitor my service inquiry and even sent me a follow-up email asking whether the replacement camera arrived and if it functioned properly. Although the replacement camera took some time to arrive, Eufy provided a free-of-charge return label.Overall, I highly recommend this camera system for so many reasons! I have no regrets on the purchase nor can I offer much feedback on improving the camera. Both the cameras and app are well-designed and intuitive, the battery life lasts forever, and picture quality is crystal clear. However, I am looking forward to Eufy integrating their cameras with Apple’s Homekit system.

Update 6/17/2020:The company made this right by sending me a new camera, no questions asked, and the new camera works fine. This took a while, but not through the fault of the company, and once they sent the new camera, it arrived much faster than they had said it would. It works fine. Although I do think that the individual components like extra cameras to add on are priced too high, the system works pretty well. I have not had any objections with respect to range, though I do think the time delay in sensing motion before recording is a little too long. I see the raccoons or opossums as they are exiting my deck usually, rather than when I suspect they first entered the cameras range. Nonetheless, I think it is a good product for the price of the system. I got a three camera system with the base and it meets my needs nicely. If I am away from the house, I like being able to check on things, and if I have a package expected, I like to at least have a chance to see the porch pirate if not deter them.Original review:Two of the cameras work pretty well but the third one stopped and I cannot get it to start working again. Similar to what I have seen in forums and other reviews. It’s not the WiFi because the one that doesn’t work is closest to the home base and the app, my phone, and tablets all show strong signal. Considering one replacement camera costs $179 (!) I am not very likely to buy a new one and am not very happy to have only 2/3 of the system I bought. I should have learned my lesson with the buggy, irritating eufy knock-offs of the Echo Dot I bought some time back that never really worked right. In the end, this system was a good price as I got it on Black Friday but it wasn’t a good deal because it doesn’t really work. I now know that a security camera is a good thing to have; guess I will have to save up for a better quality system.

I’ve purchased the Eufy Cam E wire free-HD Security Camera and am extremely happy with it. The installation process was seamless. I had some questions, so I called Keven at the customer service department and he was amazing to work with. Here are a few questions I had. One of the camera’s night-time recordings were very dark compared with the other cameras. He asked me if it was underneath the overhang of my house and I said it was. Keven told me that it was very possible that I was getting a reflection that was influencing the camera. Anything, like being next to light or picking up light reflections from the siding, can make a difference. I changed the camera and sure enough, it made the difference. Another question I had is that when I put the camera about 8 feet high and pointed down, I was getting more of the top of the head of anyone coming into camera view. It was not much good for recognizing a face from that angle. I dropped the camera down to more eye level and now it will have great value of facial recognition. Very pleased with the customer service department and love the EufyCam E-Security Camera. I definitely would recommend it.

I ordered Eufy’s three camera kit. There was an Amazon deal of the day and I jumped on it. I already had purchased and installed a Eufy Doorbell camera. Some background…I liked how the Doorbell camera was working. I like that I do not have a subscription fee, or cloud server. The video for the doorbell camera is saved in the doorbell itself. And the video quality is excellent, and the motion detection always lets me know when someone is at the door, wether they ring the doorbell or not. (great for knowing when package deliveries happen)So I felt confident in ordering the 3 camera kit.It showed up and I charged up all three cameras (they use batteries to provide one year of operation). I set the cameras up and positioned them where I wanted them and 2 of the 3 cameras worked great. The third one did not have the Wifi range of the other two. (I confirmed this by swapping the cameras to see if it was the cameras or the location that was causing the issue. It was the camera.)So I contacted Eufy customer support. They had me double check that the range of the wifi was the problem (bad antenna perhaps on that camera?). Once verified, Eufy immediately emailed out a return label and I sent just the bad camera back. And a couple of days later a new camera showed up. The replacement camera worked fine, just like the other cameras…Now my security cameras and doorbell camera are all working fine. They all work with my Alexa unit (When someone presses the doorbell, all my Alexa devices will say, “There is someone at the door.”) and I can bring up the video stream from the doorbell on my Alexa Echo Show. When I am out, I can bring up video from any of the cameras on my iPhone. This is great for checking on our dogs. And I can bring up any clips triggered by the motion detection.Overall, I’m very happy with Eufy products (and their customer support).
