I hooked up two monitors to my Samsung Flex (laptop) along with usb keyboard and mouse. It worked great once I realized how to turn on the third monitor in Windows (Display options, choose monitor, extend to this display). The dock does take some power, so the laptop complains that the connected power is lower than the factory supply. If you want to use this with the factory supply, you might be better using a different port, rather than powering through the dock. Another idea is to get a higher rated after market supply for the dock and keep your factory one for travel.

Thank You Anker, for upping the speed of the 4K to a refresh rate of 60hz, thank you for adding a second HDMI port, and thank you for keeping the Ethernet connection on the end of the hub.The Anke 8in1 works with our Apple and HP laptops perfectly. The setup is easier on the Apple, with a bit more digging to get the HP to function as a multi-screen monitor system. You will notice a half-a-second lag between powering on your computer and the second or third display monitor syncing with the base computer. Once the hub connects, you will not see a speed difference.

Nice quality and works as advertised. That said, pay attention to the images and explanation for what it can and cannot do for macs and PCs. I have a Mac and hoped to have 3 screens (laptop and 2 external). Mac requires each additional desktop screen to be plugged into its own usbc port (or airplayed), and since this unit only has one usbc male piece, it can only show one additional desktop. If you try to add two monitors via hdmi by this device to a macbook, you will get two identical displays—not very useful. If you want to have 2 additional displays on a Mac, you need something like this but with 2 usbc male connectors (one for each monitor).

MacBook Pros just suck at handling multiple monitors, so I always have to unplug and replug it in for the mac to recognize the monitor properly. (Tried literally everything I could find on the forums, and this is true even with multiple Mac monitors and their own cords and all. Just one of the few massive weaknesses Macs have.)Remember that Mac’s monitor handling software is pretty crap, so it will only mirror the monitors if you plug multiple in to one of these, as the diagram in the images shows. (For Windows, it handles it properly, and I hate saying much of anything good about Windows.)

This device functions as it should. Solid construction. The HDMI ports work well outputting mirrored images, haven’t attempted multiple output. The USB ports function as expected. Experienced some speed issues with the ethernet port, but believe this was something on the laptop. After rebuilding OS on MacBook Pro, speed did not appear to be a problem. Quickly checked it on a Samsung Note 8, and was able to view thumb drives, and phone showed charging when connected to the adapters USB-C port to a pc.Overall the unit functions admirably and provides needed USB-C to everything connections. Used for a live stream event that connected the mentioned MacBook Pro using the 2 USB ports, the ethernet port, and the HDMI ports. No breakdowns on the stream except as expected. There was some minor stuttering, but still tweeking some of the settings for the stream or may have been network issues.

Picked this out after reading/viewing reviews on its performance during file copies between media. Needed the Gigabit ethernet port. After several months of use, not disappointed. The gigabit port will move data at near-rated speed. File copies from either of the USB3 ports to/from a laptop move along as well. It is a bonus have the USB-C power port on the hub as well for those odds-n-ends that need power but not enough ports. There is another model similar to this one without the Gigabit ethernet port, that does work equally well for file transfers. The HDMI ports provide HD video to any capable monitor. Solidly built, and comes with a nice little cloth carry for those on the go.

Considered the 7-in-1 hub, which only had the one HDMI input. I had been using one monitor, plugging and unplugging a second HDMI cable to my work laptop when I work from home but kept getting screen flicker and was concerned that continual messing with the cord over and over led to this. Needed a solution that had two HDMI inputs.I went ahead with the 8-in-1 hub and am very glad that I did. The main selling point over the 7-in-1 is the dual HDMI inputs, and there is Ethernet input too if you’re hardwired, which is more reliable over wireless. Work-issued Dell Latitude 7410 detected both of my 32” LG monitors no problem. Now I don’t have to keep plugging and unplugging the HDMI cables whenever I undock, which is a plus. Just the USB-C, which is quick and easy to disconnect when I need to take my laptop on-site. Can use extension from laptop for a third screen or duplicate as well. The power pass charging via USB-C is handy, though I have two USB-C ports so don’t need it necessarily. But for one plug and go this option is nice to have. It’s a little more than I wanted to spend but things are working well thus far and it had what I wanted, so it’s worth it to me. It solves my problem as I reconfigure my home workspace with the dual monitors and other peripherals, almost all of which are accommodated by this hub (too many USB-A items for the hub, but no fault there to this hub; that’s a me problem!) and I have another little hub running those other items. It does run a little hot, so I hope that doesn’t affect long term usability but that will remain to be seen. Hoping to get a number of years use out of this and expect as an Anker product that should hold true.Overall a great little hub that covers my needs well. Notably this is a machine running Windows 10. I would have a look at other reviews re: Macintosh if you are on OSX as it sounds like there are limitations within OSX with this hub.

Ok folks, if you want dual hdmi out for your usb-c equipped laptop – THIS is the answer -Allows pass-through charging (just plug in your charger to the dongle and the dongle into your usb-c port and boom – you’ve got power and expansion – does an amazing job at 60hz dual 1080p 24in monitors… No lag – no nonsense – micro and strd SD card slots work well as do the usb 3.0 ports for expansion – all in all, this does exactly what i wanted…i’m using this with a lenovo yoga laptop that ONLY supports USB-C Display Port & Charging… Running win10…

Anker, this brand, does it again!Time and time again when I need value for my money with a product that stands by its name and quality I always go back to this brand. I am currently a high school teacher that is doing both online and in person learning which is a challenge. With that said, I needed a multiple port device to plug-in all the things I need in order to do my job and teach my students the best as possible. I actually bought two other brands one being more expensive than this and they both failed. none of the previous could handle the processing ability of what I needed for my computer and work related needs. Often times there would be lag or glitches with the two previous products. I ended up buying anchor because I have owned their products before and they are built to last! Please refer to the photo and the video for an example of what it has been able to do. In this video you will see my MacBook Pro connected with a WebCam that is streaming at all HD levels, my classrooms HD TV to mirror what it is I am teaching to the students in person, I also have my iPad connected via air server and streaming to my computer and my monitor as well as the two HDMI ports being used. Lastly the charger is connected to this and it is handling it totally fine. I would seriously recommend this product to anyone out there who is in this situation and needs to stream multiple tjings without issue.Much love from a HS teacher!
